In a post-apocalyptic sandstorm, bounty hunter Riley captures Mason, a former special forces soldier framed, in exchange for a huge reward. However, they are ambushed by a horde of mutated, bloodthirsty monsters, and the two find themselves in dire straits. To survive, Riley and Mason team up to escape, uncovering the secrets of a conglomerate's bio-experiments and confirming Mason's innocence. Just as they develop a tacit understanding, the mutated host attacks, releasing toxic gas and running out of ammunition. Mason is critically wounded and on the verge of death. In desperation, Mason pushes Riley into an escape pod and entrusts her with evidence of the conglomerate's crimes, then detonates the fuel depot, perishing alongside the monsters. Riley escapes, but her battle for revenge has only just begun.
